Private hands on lessons
If you go to open cooking classes, you might not get enough attention from the instructors. You might have to cook with ingredients you don't like or can't eat. DiningStory will come to your kitchen and conduct a real hands on lesson just for your group.
Organic Japanese French fusion
DiningStory avoids using preservatives and additives and uses organic, local ingredients. The dishes are a fusion of Japanese and French cuisine prepared using homemade seasonings and preserved foods such as Miso, fermented salt, yogurt, dried tomato, preserved lemon, jam etc.
Flexible menu
Each term, we offer 3 menu options for the 3 dishes. These include authentic Japanese and French cuisine, or a fusion of the two. All meals incorporate seasonal organic produce. Please let DiningStory know if you have any gluten-free or vegetarian requirements, or allergies etc.
How it works
- You choose what you like from our seasonal menu
- Call or e-mail DiningStory to let us know the desired date, location and purpose of the classes, as well as the menu and any special requirements etc.
- Your chef will advise availability and, if you would like to make any changes, propose a sample menu and provide a quote.
- The details will be discussed and confirmed via e-mail.
- A deposit is required to confirm your booking. Please pay the remainder on the day.
- On the day, your chef will obtain the necessary ingredients, come to your home and prepare 3 courses in a 2-hour private lesson.
- Tasting: the chef will also participate in the tasting (but only at the beginning).
- If you wish, you can book further classes with your chef.
What you prepare
The chef will bring the ingredients and chef knives. She may use some of your spices, oil etc. The cooking implements found in a normal kitchen and cutlery for the number of people dining will suffice.
